Annex 1

General Terms of Product Use, Maintenance, and Cleaning

After Assembly

Proper assembly is essential to ensure the longevity and safe use of Titan Office furniture. Please consider the following:

  • Ensure Stability: Once assembled, make sure the furniture is level and stable, particularly for items like desks, shelves, and cabinets. Failure to properly level furniture may cause functional issues such as drawer misalignment or material
  • Appropriate Castors: For chairs, choose the appropriate castors or glides based on your flooring type (hard or soft) to prevent floor damage. Consider using protective mats on sensitive floors.
  • Gas Lift Safety: Only qualified professionals should handle repairs or replacements for components like gas lifts.

Optimal Conditions for Use

Titan Office furniture is designed to perform best in controlled indoor environments. To maximize its lifespan:

  • Temperature: Keep the ambient temperature between 15°C and 30°C.
  • Avoid Heat Sources: Keep furniture at least 1 meter away from radiators, heaters, and other heat sources to prevent warping or degradation.
  • Protect from Sunlight: Limit exposure to direct sunlight, as UV rays can cause fading or discoloration, particularly on fabric and wood surfaces.

Loading Capacity

Our products are designed with specific weight-bearing limits to ensure safety and maintain structural stability:

  • Adhere to Weight Limits:
  • Do not exceed the stated load capacities: cabinets have a weight limit of 30-50 kgs depending on the model, desks are limited to 50 kgs, and chairs can support up to 110 kgs as specified by the European Standards
  • Heavy Objects: When placing heavy items on furniture, distribute the weight evenly to avoid localized stress points that may cause surface damage or structural weakening.
  • Avoid Misuse: Do not sit, stand, or lean on furniture surfaces not designed for that purpose. Misuse may lead to accidents or permanent damage to components.

Surface Scratches

Maintaining a smooth, undamaged surface is essential for the long-term appeal and performance of your furniture:

  • Protect Surfaces: Use coasters, mats, or felt pads under items like mugs, office supplies, or electronic devices to prevent scratches and abrasions.
  • Avoid Sharp Objects: Never drag sharp or rough objects (e.g., metal items, hard accessories) across the furniture surface. Consider using mouse pads and desk mats under frequently moved items.
  • Clean Castors/Glides: Keep castors or glides free from dirt and debris, which can collect and scratch your flooring or the base of the furniture.

Chemical Substances

To preserve the integrity of your furniture, avoid exposure to harsh chemicals:

  • Avoid Direct Contact: Use isolating mats when handling chemical substances like solvents, alcohol, or cleaning products. Prolonged exposure to these substances can degrade finishes and surfaces.
  • Clean Spills Immediately: If liquids are spilled, wipe them off immediately with a soft, absorbent cloth to prevent staining or surface damage.

Cosmetics & Household Products: Be cautious with products like lotions, creams, or cleaning agents, as they may interact negatively with furniture surfaces, particularly lacquered or polished finishes

Operation

The correct application of seating and furniture ensures safety and extends the lifespan of your products:

  • Chairs: Chairs are designed for single-person use, and weight limits should be observed. Ensure proper castor selection based on floor type.
  • Screw Connections: Regularly check screw connections, especially on chairs and frequently used furniture. Loose screws can lead to instability or damage. We recommend tightening screws every six months.
  • Safe Handling of Mechanisms: Avoid tampering with mechanisms like gas lifts or complex internal components, as this could lead to malfunction or pose safety hazards.

Moving Furniture

Moving furniture improperly can result in damage to both the furniture and the floor:

  • Lift, Don’t Drag: Always lift furniture when relocating it. Dragging may cause damage to both the furniture’s legs and flooring.
  • Empty Before Moving: Remove all contents from drawers, cabinets, and shelves before attempting to move the item to prevent structural stress.
  • Multiple People for Heavy Lifting: Large or heavy pieces of furniture should be moved by at least two people to ensure safety and prevent damage.
  • Modular Furniture: For modular or sectional furniture, detach components before moving to prevent strain on the joints and connectors.
